This Teaching and Learning Guide has been developed to offer resources to help North Idaho College faculty members support their professional needs, to continuously improve their teaching and learning practices, and to help them find new ways to share expertise and collaborate with others. General resources are organized by material type via the tabs to the right. Resources for specific topics can be found via the navigation on the left. American Association of Community Colleges
The American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) is the primary advocacy organization for the nation’s community colleges. The association represents nearly 1,200 2-year, associate degree-granting institutions and more than 12 million students.

American Association of University Professors
The AAUP is a nonprofit membership association of faculty and other academic professionals. Since our foundation in 1915, the AAUP has helped to shape American higher education by developing the standards and procedures that maintain quality in education and academic freedom in this country's colleges and universities.

American Association of University Women
We are tenacious and trailblazing — advocating for women and girls since 1881 and into the future!

National Education Association
Great educators create great public schools. NEA provides the training, tools, and community support for educators to engage students, nurture justice, and excel in their profession.

The Chronicle of Higher Education 

Access to CHE is free on campus for any user and remotely for currently-enrolled students, faculty, and staff but creating an account is required. You must be connected to a campus internet network to create an account; after registering you can access your Chronicle of Higher Education account from anywhere and find current and back issues here. The Teaching & Learning sub-page is especially helpful for finding current topics and issues related to higher ed faculty/professionals.
 


The New York Times
Access is free for currently-enrolled students, faculty, and staff but registration is required. After registering you can access your New York Times account from anywhere and on any device by accessing through a browser or via the NYTimes app. The Education page is helpful in finding current topics and issues related to higher education.
 


Community College Journal
A refereed, scholarly journal of original articles on both the theoretical and practical aspects of community college education in the areas of administration and management, changing technology, instruction, and programming and curriculum with full-text available 03/01/1990 - present.

Journal on Excellence in College Teaching
Examines all areas affecting teaching and learning with full-text available 3/01/2012 - 07/01/2014.
