Biography
"Bryan Alexander is an internationally known futurist, researcher, writer, speaker, consultant and teacher, working in the field of how technology transforms education.

He is the founder of the Future of Education Observatory, a writing and media production hub, and of Bryan Alexander Consulting, LLC, through which he consults throughout higher education in the United States and the world. Before BAC Bryan taught literature, writing, multimedia, and information technology studies at Centenary College of Louisiana, then worked with the National Institute for Technology in Liberal Education (NITLE), a non-profit working to help small colleges and universities best integrate digital technologies that closed in 2018. He completed his English language and literature PhD at the University of Michigan in 1997, with a dissertation on doppelgangers in Romantic-era fiction and poetry." A seasoned face-to-face and online educator, Darby loves to apply learning science across the disciplines, and to help others do the same. She is the author, with James M. Lang, of Small Teaching Online: Applying Learning Science in Online Classes, and she’s a columnist for the Chronicle of Higher Education. "Natasha Jankowski has presented at numerous national conferences and institutional events, and written various reports for NILOA. Her primary research interests include assessment and evaluation, organizational evidence use, and evidence-based storytelling. She holds a PhD in Higher Education from the University of Illinois, an M.A. in Higher Education Administration from Kent State University, and a B.A. in philosophy from Illinois State University. She previously worked for GEAR UP Learning Centers at Western Michigan University and worked with the Office of Community College Research and Leadership studying community colleges and public policy. "Jessamyn Neuhaus regularly facilitates teaching and learning workshops, and delivers lectures and keynot addresses on a variety of teaching issues in higher education. Neuhaus began teaching U.S. history, cultural studies, women's history, history of sexuality, and gender studies in 1997. She earned her Ph.D. in history at Claremont Graduate University. Today, she is a tenured professor in the history department at SUNY Plattsburgh, where she teaches classes on U.S. history 1877 to the present, popular culture history, and history methodology classes. In addition to Geeky Pedagogy: A guide for Intellectuals, Introverts, and Nerds Who Want to Be Effective Teachersshe is also the author of Manly Meals and Mom's Home Cooking: Cookbooks and Gender in Modern America and Housework and Housewives in American Advertising: Married to the Mop.

Biography

"Thomas J. Tobin is an internationally-recognized speaker and author on topics related to quality in technology-enhanced education, especially copyright, evaluation of teaching practice, academic integrity, and accessibility/universal design for learning.

Before joining UW-Madison, Tobin served for five years as the Coordinator of Learning Technologies in the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) at Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago, and spent seven years in the Learning and Development arm of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois.

Since the advent of online courses in higher education in the late 1990s, Tom’s work has focused on using technology to extend the reach of higher education beyond its traditional audience.
