The above details expectations for those professors considering implementing a LEVEL 1, 2, 3, or 4 OER project in support of a Z Degree.

OER LEVELS // STAGE 1

LEVEL 1: Curation
Collected free resources from Molstead Library, etc. (e.g. reading lists within Canvas)
LEVEL 2: Adoption
Implementing an existing open resource from an OER platform (OpenStax, etc.)

NOTE: The purpose of the STAGE 1 submission is to help us know what type of OER materials you are considering and which courses you are hoping to support. Completing STAGE 1 will help you determine the current OER landscape for your course. Stipend eligibility in STAGE 2 is contingent on first completing STAGE 1: OER Research/Literature Review.

STAGE 1: Confirming Existing OER Use

This form/application is for faculty who implemented or made use of OER or Very Low Cost resources prior to the 'Project Z' state initiative. The completion and outcome of this form is for your efforts to be recognized through an enhancement and/or stipend. Those who have collected and curated free resources within Canvas in lieu of a text are eligible for a course enhancement (low-to-zero cost icon in the course catalog). Those who have adopted or implemented a low-to-zero cost textbook or other open resources will be eligible for a $500 stipend.

NOTE:  If you are interested in exploring other OER materials to replace your existing materials I would recommend you reach out the OER Coordinator (brian.seguin@nic.edu) or complete the STAGE 1 FORM: OER Research/Literature Review form.
