Available Software

Molstead Library currently has a number of software programs already installed on library computers. . Please be advised that if you do not find the program you are looking for, you are welcome to install any programs that are free or you have licensing for. Alice 2 - an innovation block-based programming environment that makes it easy to create animations, build interactive narratives, or program simple games in 3D. Version 2.4.3. Free tutorials are available through Duke University here.

AutoCAD - AutoCAD is a commercial computer-aided design and drafting software application. Free tutorials are available from the publisher here.

Code::Blocks - a free, open-source cross-platform IDE that supports multiple compilers including GCC, Clang, and Visual C++. Information and help can be found on the Wiki,  here, and in the user manual, here.

MS Office - includes the latest versions of Microsoft Access, Excel, OneNote, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Word. If you are having difficulty, a number of tutorials for Office 2016 are available for free at this website here. The library also has a collection of books that can provide quick answers and help you become more proficient in using each program.  Most librarians are also relatively familiar with certain programs in MS Office.

PuTTY - a versatile terminal program for Windows. It is the world's most popular free SSH client. It supports SSH, telnet, and raw socket connections with good terminal emulation. It supports public key authentication and Kerberos single-sign-on. It also includes command-line SFTP and SCP implementations.
 

Scratch - a free programming language and online community where you can create your own interactive stories, games and animations. Online tutorials and PDF guides are available here.

Solidworks - a solid modeling computer-aided design and computer-aided engineering program. Online tutorials are available here.




ArcLight Dynamics:  software that interfaces with metal machinery to allow users to design and cut automated designs. Information and tutorials can be found here.

Autodesk REVIT: a building information modelling software for architects, landscape architects, structural engineers, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineers, designers and contractors. Information and tutorials can be found here.

Chief Architect: a developer of 3D architectural home design software for builders, interior designers, architects, and DIY home enthusiasts. Chief Architect uses BIM tools to create a 3D model of the structure and automatically generates all of the building systems of the home. Information and tutorials can be found here.

Geometer's Sketchpad: an interactive geometry software program for exploring Euclidean geometry, algebra, calculus, and other areas of mathematics. Information and tutorials can be found here.

Mastercam:  a computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software program used by manufacturing professionals, such as machinists and computer numerical control (CNC) programmers. Information and tutorials can be found here.

QuickBooks:  a small business accounting software program businesses use to manage sales and expenses and keep track of daily transactions. You can use it to invoice customers, pay bills, generate reports for planning, tax filing, and more. Information and tutorials can be found here.

Adobe Creative Cloud is currently available on stations MOL110_08 & MOL110_09.
 

 

Adobe Illustrator - a vector graphics editor and graphic design software. Tutorials are available here.

Adobe InDesign - a desktop publishing application. Tutorials are available here.

Adobe Lightroom - an online tool that allows you to edit, crop make adjustments, and apply presets to your photos. Tutorials are available here.

Adobe Photoshop - an imaging and photo-editing software. Tutorials are available here.

Microsoft Visual Studio Code - also commonly referred to as VS Code, is a source-code editor developed by Microsoft. Features include support for debugging, syntax highlighting, intelligent code completion, snippets, code refactoring, and embedded Git.
